Lyft Drivers, Still

Update October 18, 2021. My Lyft driver asked if I read Camus (I have but only a little, he had read more). He is from Algeria and now finds himself in Austin, Texas.

Random September day. My driver was a young man who still has family in Afghanistan. His mother, his siblings, are in danger that I, and none of my family, ever will face. And of course, as evil does and as liars do, they’re going again at women and girls. They already have started.

I miss Chicago’s tap and go public transit. Austin’s pretty crummy in comparison. So the compensation is meeting these drivers with life stories. Even if it costs a little more than the crummy bus.
