I Like It When It Clean

Another sunny day in Austin. It is just a gorgeous morning.

I’m doing spring cleaning today, a Sunday, daylight saving day, more hours of light, happy. Laundry, frig, floors, litter box, bathroom, trash, recycle (who does not know the housework). All getting freshened. Plenty of scented candles going, baking soda in the disposal. Carpet cleaner yet to come.

(And oh the inbox cleaning…who does not know that good and evil also.)

When my son was young we had a silly song for his cat Leo, every time I cleaned the litter pan. “I like it when it clean, my mommy make it clean.” And so with my cat Oliver. That one loves a clean litter pan. Adorable slob, right now sprawled across my desk, making a mess of papers I had so carefully organized.

I love a fresh, healthy space, and do know I am lucky for it even if it takes a little work. Austin at the end of winter. The energy here now feels OK, let’s go.

Back to writing tomorrow. More on the unhoused, Universal Basic Income, and commie kid’s books. So much more to do but for this week. And oh holding my breath more WordPress fixes.

But with clean floors.
