Checks And Balances

Judicial. Thank goodness. Can’t keep up with all the rulings but much legitimate. Congressional, generally impotent. My Senators, Durbin and Duckworth, pretty great. My district rep, whoever he is, pretty useless.

Critter and the orcs can’t touch entitlements (yet). Show the evidence. That fight, no giving up. Critter and the orcs will lose.

Can’t pollute cultural treasures….Kennedy Center…with a sharpie. Can’t buy class if you’ve got none. That move was so pathetic. We know.

Can’t hurt people letting them starve and die in less wealthy places on a whim.

Can’t eliminate life saving research.

Can’t deny climate.

Skunk has some investigations of him/her/they going on and those are the agencies skunk’s going after. Figure that out. It’s pretty obvious. Self dealing. Conflict of interest. Can’t do that. It’s the law. And public opinion will not be kind.

History will not be kind.

If him/her/they want to go to Mars, hit send.

I’ve been MSNBC-ing and Bulwark-ing an awful lot last few weeks, trying to wrap my mind around the insanity.

Rick Wilson, one of my two favorite journalists, so witty (“DOGE-bags,” laugh of the day) straight talker but spot on. All my own anger at the nutso “disruption” (i.e. havoc in other peoples’ lives) feels right when I read or watch him.

(Other great writer, Derek Thompson, different style, long form, very thoughtful, different topics, but my equal favorite journalist. I have gained so much knowledge from his work.)

It is scary. Some guardrails, not all, have worked well, and gosh fingers crossed they will hold. And anyone with a brain will come to see how they, themselves, are hurt, unless this crazy stops.
