Here Comes The Sun

And I say it’s alright.

Just enormous, huge. Sunrise through my bedroom window. Trees still bare but soon they’ll start blooming. Weather here still chilly, rainy, stormy, sometimes then you get a 73 sunny day. And outside my front window, oh the dogs, happy walkers taking out their humans. Could they be more adorable. Nope, they already are adorable. Can we say labradoodle.

Sometimes I miss my Austin streetscape overlooking the Alamo Drafthouse and the gorgeous skies there. And artful neighborhood, easy walk to Lady Bird Lake. And nice people and their “good boy” dogs in the hallways and elevators.

But I am here now, and in a very quiet place with good folks.

The neighborhood here has all those very big houses that Monticello is known for. These are not bungalows. Some jaw dropping architecture. It’s a lovely walk, run, or bike ride, just to pass by.

Here I have a lot of my art pieces, which I stored when in Texas again for a while. Many books, some donated, some here, some still in storage. And I’ll talk to myself, “why can’t I find that book.” Figure it out. Things get found.

The boxes of Lego will be found. They will be easy. Still in (the to the roof) storage unit. We’ll find. I’m writing this afternoon that I love Lego. Could go for hours building Lego.

But I’ve got some work to do first.

I have so many scribbles to make comprehensible. Doing blog posts for now. Short, but not what I need to be doing. Find that book outline and make some progress on the sample chapter. Research and propose agents. Probably the next few months’ job. I know how to do this..

Got cleaning and organizing here after the last few months, over a year, of being away. I’m so particular about my closet organization so got to do it myself. (My Mother’s helper is super nice and does a lot to support me too. She is what’s now called overemployed, fulltime plus gigs. New but real indicator. A blog post.)

Then get back to lovely YMCA here, routine. Treadmill, maybe indoor track, bike, lap pool with the three story windows. That place is so unbelievingly satisfying on a December afternoon as the winter sun is setting.

And then go home, make chile relleno. Or open a can of tomato soup and toss in some water crackers. I can cook, but not doing much cooking now. It’ll come back when it’s ready.
